At YakTrak we believe that a healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body. Feeling good and functioning well contributes to overall wellbeing, and it’s important for us, our staff, our clients and their teams.

So we’re proud to announce that we’ve joined the Royal Melbourne Hospital to promote 5 Ways to Wellbeing – a simple set of evidence-based guidelines that can help us live happier lives and improve our ability to cope with stress.

Just like physical fitness, you can strengthen your mental health in lots of ways.

5 Ways to Wellbeing draws on international research and evidence to promote simple actions we can take in our daily lives to improve our wellbeing:

  • Keep learning
  • Be aware (take notice)
  • Help others

 

Benefits of wellbeing

Wellbeing not only feels good – it provides significant benefits that help us live happier and healthier lives:

  • Feelings of overall happiness and purpose can increase resilience, improve self-esteem and raise emotional intelligence.
  • High levels of wellbeing can increase immunity to infection, lower the risk of some mental health problems, reduce mental decline as we get older and be good for heart health.

We’re taking on board the 5 Ways and we look forward to supporting our clients as they recognise and invest in the wellbeing and mental health of their staff in 2021.
